New Pants

Everybody like a good pair of lounge pants. Apparently even 17 month olds.  I found baby lounge pants on a super deal at Shopko and had to pick up a couple pairs for Ronan in the next size up. He is finally outgrowing his 12 month pants~at 17 months! I never expected this reaction from him, but I'm so glad he kept it up long enough to get a little bit on video. He was so excited.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

It is so fun to watch Ronan grow into new play skills.  Right now, essentially anything will wheels grabs his attention. He will play for long periods of time with his train and cars, he waves at every car we pass and he can hear a plane in the sky long before I do. One of his favorite spots to play with his current favorite toy is in the window sill. I actually had some success getting a couple cute shots since he was so focused and actually still for a few moments!

Shopping

We've had an interesting few weeks which means I'm behind on the blog. Again.  On the up side of things, we had a fun, sunny trip to Seattle and Patrick had a week off for spring break. Yay!

We enjoy doing anything together as a family - even shopping.  I especially love it when Patrick can come along because he can entertain Ronan. :) These are some pictures from patrick's phone on some of our recent shopping trips.

Sunpeople (downtown Spokane) has the coolest airplane rocker/scooter.

Patrick insists Ronan NEEDS this car bed

from too cool

to so silly

back to too cool ;)  This popper was a lifesaver while we registered at Baby's R Us!

Spring Break

After our Seattle trip, we enjoyed a nice spring break with Patrick. We lucked out and had nice weather most days so we spent some time outside. Ronan loves to go outside, which makes us so happy. I can't wait for more sunny days when we can spend all of our time outside!

Ronan is a great helper, especially if it's something his dad is doing. He spent most of his time dragging around a big push broom. Those pictures turned out blurry, bummer.

We went on a little hike near our house.

We even got to spend a couple of days with my family, which included a trip to my brother's firestation. Ronan and Keegan were fascinated with every aspect of the fire trucks and all of the equipment. Even at just 1 year, they are both all boy! I got some great pics on my mom's camera since mine died right after we got there. Hopefully I'll get those and be able to share more of their adventure.

He especially loved the larger-than-life tires

We've been hard at work trying to make our guest room actually feel welcoming.  This entails a lot of organizing, cleaning and decorating.  Our budget is $0, so we'll use what we have to pull it all together.  We set a goal to be done with it my the end of March. We'll see...all I know is that the nesting instinct has kicked it into high gear and we are trying to take advantage of it!!

Um, I'm not ready for this shot. he looks way too old!
Patrick broke out his trumpet for a little music break. Ronan was pretty entranced.

New Adventures

We started a new parenting adventure today - cloth diapers. With the prospect of 2 babies in diapers looming in our very near future, we found that we are willing to try something new in order to save some money.  After a bit of procrastination, today was the day I went for it.  I can't say I'm thrilled with whole idea, but we'll give it a shot.

I love this first shot of Ronan. He seems to like the diapers, but is getting used to them feeling a little funny.

Tell us how you really feel

He had to test out every place to sit in the house.

And of course everyone knows you must try out a new diaper with shoes. You know, just to see how it feels. :)

Seattle Trip

We had a great long weekend in Seattle with Patrick's family! We wish it could have been longer, but it was so nice to spend some quality time with everyone. And, it was sunny! Seattle + sunshine = lots of happy people :)

We drove straight to Freemont, soaked in some sunshine and shopping and made a stop at the Freemont Troll (under the Freemont Bridge).  Last time we stopped in Freemont, Ronan was in my belly! (we didn't take our big camera so all of these pictures are from Patrick's phone and unfortunately we didn't get any pictures with our family-we have to get better about that!)

A little shopping at one of my favorite stores

A dessert date with my babe. At a chocolate cafe. Seriously. This pregnant women's dream. :)

A quick stop to visit with a friend. Ronan LOVED Lewis and all of his kisses.

And finally a stop at Ikea for some much needed items for baby sister. With no nap for Ronan and the fact that we stopped on our way out of town, this trip was a recipe for disaster. But, we made record time through the store with no meltdown (though I was on the brink of one when I got a little lost!).

a little reward for all of us :)
