Our Week l 3.18-3.24

Oh boy, we had a busy week! Lots of playdates, birthday parties, hanging with friends. Thankfully we ALL slept through the night last night. No teething babies, potty training tots, coughing spouse or restless animals to stir this mama. It's been way too long...Anyway, Easter and sunshine headed our way and it promises to be a great week!

Monday: An unexpected free day was quickly filled with a little shopping and meeting up with my brother, sis-in-law and nephew for some energy-burning at McDonald's playland (let's all focus on the fun that was had and not the millions of germs crawling through that place, shall we). As you can see, Ronan was sacked.

Aislinn is enjoying her new Baby Mum-Mum snacks (she loves these!) and her new pink 4-wheeler. Ronan thought she needed one to match his. :)

Wednesday: We got caught in some seriously nasty weather on the way home from a friends. Which has nothing to do with the picture: more fun to be had in the laundry basket. :)

Thursday: I really wanted a fun activity that both Ronan and Aislinn could do. Meaning that it had to be edible. Everything goes into Aislinn's mouth these days. Solution: pudding paint! This was so fun, and yummy. Ro helped me mix the "paint" and then we all went to town. Easy to make, easy to clean!

Yep, it's a good thing it's edible.

I found my wash cloth in a very suspicious place. Hmmm, wonder how that happened? The boy likes to throw.Everything.

A quick trip to the grocery store...Ro was enthralled with the birthday card he picked out for his cousin's 2nd birthday. A great way to make it through the store. :)

Best roast ever. I used this recipe.

Friday: A great day, not captured in photos (playdate, fun dinner out). Thought I'd share the way I typically read magazines these days. Pretty much everything I do is done simultaneously while playing cars. Ronan built me this tractor!

Saturday: We grabbed a few extra minutes in bed while Ro played cars.

Sunday: First shave and snuggles with daddy before church.

I can't believe our nephew is 2 already! We celebrated his birthday at the sunny, but chilly, park.

This is perfection. Totally sacked from a great weekend. And in one of daddy's old shirt none-the-less. Love.

Cutie Patootie

This little girl melts our hearts. I cherish the moments when I get alone time with her, which unfortunately is not all that often. But little moments here and there are so sweet. Lately, she is all about knawing on those bottom teeth that are trying to break their way through. Anything is game, paper, shoes, finger...in this case string. I'm hoping she'll have at least one tooth by the time she's 10 months!

Our Week l 3.11-3.17

So I have a little secret...I recently got a new phone! Well, about a month ago. :) That's about as up to date as we get around here at the Reed4 blog.  You may think you don't care, but I bet that you do. Why? Because it takes real pictures (as opposed to my previous phone that took tiny, pixelated pictures). I have been launched into the world of smart phones/camera phones by my sweet hubby who bought me my phone. I have been taking SO many more photos and videos as I find that it's always on hand. It hasn't replaced my nice camera, but I think it will help me keep the blog more up to date. I like to take photos with my Nikon and I like to edit them, but I often get too overwhelmed (and busy) to complete the whole process. I'm hoping to at the very least do a weekly round up of unedited phone pictures, just for the sake of photo journaling our daily lives. Rumor has it my Windows phone will soon be able get the Instagram app, then we'll be even more fancy. Can't wait! :)

Monday: The sun has been shining around here and we are taking advantage of it! While we're all thrilled to get outside more; Kohly may be the most eager family member. The frequency of family walks has suddenly increased. :)

Ronan insisted on wearing his new boots. He LOVES them. They were the perfect Christmas gift from my cousin. Luckly he has lots of room to grow into them!

Playing outside...

Tuesday: Helping me make cookies.

Aislinn's first time "helping". She loved being part of the action.

Thursday: A tough day. I truly can't remember why, just one of those days. I'm pretty sure it involved whining, tantrums and potty accidents. What I do remember, and probably won't forget, is making Ronan his first smoothie (pure delight!) and going to the park. A bad day can always be renewed with a little (or sometimes a lot) of effort. :)

Friday: If all else fails, I know I've done one thing right as a mom. Ro asked for his "Toudar shirt." Success.

Sunday: We made it back home from my parents with plenty of time and daylight to go on a walk. It was Aislinn's first ride in the back of the stroller. She seemed to like it and Ronan most definitely liked being back up front. I love our stroller. Possibly one of our best splurges ever (Phil & Ted's, Dash. I think they carry something similar but named different now...maybe the Classic?)

Ronan got a great bubble maker from my aunt this weekend and was dying to try it out. "Dying" may sound a bit dramatic, but if you have, have ever had or have ever been around a 2 year old, you know that they really do think they're dying. Patience most certainly is a virtue. We're working on that. Still. We're been working on that since he was about 8 months old. Hands down the most difficult concept to teach that we've encountered so far. :)

Going for a ride while dinner finishes. Speaking of dinner, Ronan LOVED corned beef. We were shocked, but he just kept eating it up.

Bath time.

Potty Time

What have we been up to lately? I'll give you a hint:

Oh yes. Those are "big boy" underwear you see. We are in the full swing of potty training. Wow! So awesome and so not awesome at the same time. :) I'm pretty sure no one fully explained to me how exhausting it would be. We took the big leap and essentially followed this post on potty training in one day (um, not exactly one day actually). The first day was insane. We were on the potty every 5-10 minutes. Poor Aislinn, she was somewhat neglected that day.  Ronan did better than I expected, but we still had a lot of messes to clean up (that little basket shown above has been so handy). So has Little Green.

I'm so proud of our little guy Big Boy. He is doing SO well. We often make it through the day without an accident and he's been waking up dry from most naps and sometimes even in the morning. Woohoo! So exciting. Another upside is getting to see that cute little bum in his undies. :)

PS. Favorite color is orange right now

And the reward: "emmie-emmie's"
this little jar has become a part of our decor, so I thought I'd jazz it up a bit :)
