Boating!

We had the perfect summer weekend! Worked in the community garden, had friends over for a bbq (and strawberry cobbler with strawberries from the garden-yum!), church and then we hit the lake! The last few times we've tried to go boating, the weather hasn't cooperated, but we finally got out! Ronan had fun I think. Maybe not so much fun with the life jacket...

Our nephew Keegan just turned 4 months. He's such a doll and has the sweetest personality. We're so excited for our boys to grow up and spend many more beautiful days on the lake :)

Nope, I wouldn't be comfortable either

Crashing under the steering wheel

This kid loves his peas. Whole, smashed, warm, cold...doesn't matter to him

Patrick kneeboarded for the first time and did great! Ronan missed it - as soon as the boat started going, he crashed. Something about no nap yet, the lull of the movement, a good breeze and mom's arms :)

I was shielding his face and we were shaded for most of the time

Keegan was pooped too

Random Projects

I'm in the mood to work on some things again, so I'm chipping away at my list.

I was tired of looking at this:

So I did this:

Holds Patrick's miscellaneous stuff. Probably our 6th attempt in so many years to find a home for it

Left over fabric from our shower curtain and a covered oatmeal container.  Not perfect, but better :)

Seriously. This is what I have to deal with when I'm working on projects. If he's not ON my project, then he's usually laying right behind me on the couch. Silly kitty.

I have a few other things I'm working on...I may post photos.  Speaking of projects, have you checked out Pinterest? It's a fun way to get inspired and store ideas you find online.  Let me know if you want an invite!

We're enjoying having Patrick home again! Everyday life is just sweeter when we're a family again. I most definitely appreciate the help around the house and with Ronan! And the support for Ronan's recent middle-of the night *issues*. I don't know, what should I call them?  Another tooth coming through (#5!)...adjusting to sleeping at home again...growing pains...bad habits... We've had a few weeks worth of bad nights; mostly, I think, due to all of our traveling. It takes a few days for him to adjust once we get home and then we hit the road again. Last night we got back on track with a full 8 hours (11 for Ro)!! Sweet. Hopefully we're back to normal.

We had a mix up and don't have the seat we've been using for dinners outdoor. We were given this hight chair so we drug it out of the garage - and by we I mean Patrick - and tested it out tonight. Ronan loved it. King of his domain! His legs were a-kickin'.  He also LOVED this fish we had for dinner. Good news for us since we love it too :)

Legs crossed, just chillin'

I love that sweetness

Last night we went on a walk. We're aspiring to run a little this summer...we'll see.  Even though I work out regularly, he still kicks my but running. Those long legs. Ronan and Kohly don't care either way. They just love to go.  We enjoy living near High Drive because it is such a beautiful view.

Love that crooked smile. The other two top teeth are on their way!

Ronan has his own ways of getting around these days. No crawling yet, but usually a lot of rolling and pinwheels. He's starting to push himself backward a lot. Today I put him in the middle of the rug and within 30 seconds he was at the front door. As you can see from this video, he is getting pretty frustrated with his inability to get where he wants to be. He's working on it though...only a matter of weeks then lookout world!

Playdate x5

We had some visitors this morning and it was so fun! Katie and the Goldsworthy team (there are 5 kids!) were in town and stopped in to say "hi' while John was working. Patrick grew up with Katie and her sisters and I actually lived with them in college. In fact, we credit Holly, Katie's sister, with introducing Patrick and I but maybe we should share the credit with Katie since she was one of the gals who interviewed me to live in the Rock (awesome Christian women's house I lived in at WSU)!  And, Patrick's dad grew up with their parents in Burbank. So anyway, we love this family and we are so glad to catch up with them every once in a while! We did have an ulterior motive: introducing Ronan and Eva. They are only 1 month apart and she is super cute :)

I meant to round up the kids for a group pic, but we just didn't get to that. I didn't get any of Joel...he was usually wondering around looking for the cat :)

They shared so well! I love all the little feet in the background keeping watch over the little ones:)

Ronan and Eva were intrigued by Zach  the wild man(background)

Oldest sis, Chloe.

Thanks for stopping in! We look forward to next time!

Cherry Pickin'

Ronan and I snubbed our noses at this bad weather and met Julia and Cole at Greenbluff.  We got together to practice taking pictures together (which we didn't do much of) and pick some cherries. I passed on the cherries since I got more than my fill this weekend...

We've known Julia and her husband, Muir, since college. I lived with Muir's sister, Nicki, and actually had a dance class with Julia. Good times... Julia actually told us she was pregnant with Cole the night of our recital! AND, I'm just recalling, that Patrick actually showed my parents my future engagement ring that night while they were out in the audience. Epic night I guess :)

Anyway, we've moved on from dancing (probably a good thing) to football watching and taking pics of our kiddos. Julia is one of the few women I know who love football as much as I do! We love to get together with them for a few games each season, and always the Super Bowl. Muir and Julia are expecting their second child, a girl, this fall. She'll be almost exactly a year younger than Ronan! We are beyond excited for them and can't wait to meet their little sweetie.

Taking pictures of a very active 6 year old is quite the challenge. Cole enjoyed munching on cherries and entertaining Ronan. Cole and I both felt we deserved an ice cream cone at the end of our harvest ;)

And we're done.

Pool Time

As usual,we had a great time at Nana and Grandpa Reeds house!  Recently we've realized how lucky our kids will be growing up. They get to have the pool, fun in the sun experience at the Reeds and the mountain/cabin/4-wheeling experience at the Jenkins.  Totally different, but both so fun. We are blessed for sure!

Ronan loved his pool experience this time around. Instead of being so analytical like the first time, he just got a kick (literally) out of being in the water. We are so glad he likes it!

This one is overexposed but I love how happy he is!

Telling us another story

oh so tired.
