Ro Speak

I posted this on Facebook earlier but I had to share here too. Ronan cracks me up. These videos totally sum up Ro's personality right now. Random conversations, "Roney" speaking of himself in the third person, potty talk, brushing his teeth Lightening McQueen  tow trucks, racing (oh my goodness, we race cars around the couch all day-favorite activity right now!)...Oh man, we love this boy! :)

While we're on the topic of random conversations with Ronan, I've been thinking it would be funny to document some of them here.  His number one phrase of the moment is "Yighting Mfween races and brote a wheel!" Translation: Lighting McQueen races and broke a wheel! You know, like the scene in the beginning of the Cars movie when Lightening refuses help from his pit crew and blows all his tires out right before he crosses the finish line... He literally tells us this story 15 times a day. He has only watched the movie a few times. Impressionable much? Oh, I think I have a video of this one actually. We partially caught it anyway and tried hard to get the full thing. Unfortunately this video does not properly show how emphatic he usually is when saying "brote a wheel."

Another great convo yesterday in the grocery store:
Me:   My nose is runny
Ro:    Mama's nose running and running and running and fall down?
Me:   Umm, no my nose didn't fall down...

Spring Cleaning

Maybe not so much spring cleaning as winter cleaning. I have been working through a gigantic to-do list around the house. I've been slowly working through each room since the 2nd week of January. I'm a little behind (whatever "behind" means") but still working through it with some momentum. This weekend we cleaned out our closets and dresser. We even downsized to a smaller dresser! I love it, so much more floor space in our little room.

I learned a few things while cleaning out my stuff:
1. Judging by my wardrobe, my life has changed drastically in the last couple years. Of course, it doesn't take my wardrobe to know that, duh. But comparing my every-day wardrobe from 3 years ago to today's wardrobe was pretty crazy. I used to wear some really cute clothes! I briefly wished I could get dressed up every day again (I suppose I could anyway...) but I quickly remembered how I would sit at my desk, kick off my shoes, take off the bracelets and stuffy jacket and dream of the day I got to stay home and snuggle babies in my comfies and slippers. :)
2. I may or may not have a boot obsession. I had no idea. High heel, low heel, leather, suede, sweater, black, brown, camel, blue, pointy-toed, round-toed, square-toed...Good thing I wear boots 3/4 of the year. ;) Yes, I got rid of some!
3. It's TIME I get back to my pre-baby weight! Seriously. Maybe even the pre-pre-baby weight (my goal: summer of 2009!). Some of my old favs are calling me. 'Nuff said.

Since you probably care more about my cuties than my closets, here are a few of my little helpers.

Aislinn l 8 Months

The months are starting to fly by. So fast. I can't even remember any of Aislinn's milestones this month. Yikes.

She is sitting up solidly and loving all of the interaction this allows. She's getting pretty fond of daddy, but is most definitely still a mama's girl. Ro is always able to make her laugh. Seriously-match made in heaven. She is still content to hang out and watch us, as long as she has something to play with. And oh man is Aislinn getting grabby - always wants what Ronan has which is starting to drive him crazy. :)

This guy is always nearby during photo time. Nearby as in laying on me or jumping on me.  :)
