Staycation II

We both feel so blessed that we are in this place in life that when Patrick is free, we get to hang out as a family.  It won't always be this way, but this summer we are determined to take advantage of all of this time.

Tuesday we had to pick up our computer at the Apple store, so we hung out downtown for a couple hours. We really enjoy being downtown, especially on a sunny day. We walked through the mall and then Riverfront Park to see the falls. With the late winter and all this rain, the run-off is amazing. If you live in Spokane or are planning to visit, you have to check them out!

Thursday we found ourselves with a DQ Blizzard in hand and a sleeping (finally) baby in tow.  We decided to enjoy our treat with a good view so we drove west. We kept going until we hit Joe Albi Stadium and then we went a little farther. You know what, we found a very cool place in Spokane we've never been before. Fairmont Memorial Park. Yes, it is a cemetery, but there is great architecture, stunning views and lots of very interesting headstones and individual mausoleums.  We took the scenic route home along the river - gorgeous! We might have to retrace our steps someday and take some pictures :)

Friday we heard the weather would be better so we packed it up and headed to Couer d'Alene.  We picnicked, shopped and ended with front row seats to a classic car parade. We both love old cars, so it was pretty sweet :)  Oh and speaking of sweet, CdA has a new sweet shoppe.  It was so bright and cheery with jar after jar of sweet treats so we had to take a peak inside. We weren't planning to buy anything ($$$!!!) but when and Inlander photographer asked to follow us around and take photos, we felt a little obligated. :) So, you better check out the next Inlander - you  might find a friendly face inside :)
